Jesus Calling Exposé

IS "JESUS CALLING" - OR WARNING ABOUT FALSE CHRISTS COMING IN HIS NAME?

Welcome to my introductory note about Brenna E. Scott’s book, Christian Journaling or Psychic Channeling?: A Critical Comparison of the Jesus Calling Series with Occult Training Literature. I, Chris Lawson, wrote the Foreword to Brenna Scott’s Jesus Calling Series book exposé. Here, I’d like to present several essential questions that I think are worthy of consideration.

Do you know that Sarah Young, the author of the Jesus Calling Christian devotional book series, was initially inspired by the book God Calling? God Calling is an occult/channeled literary work that decades ago, under the guise of being a Christian book, became a very famous and widely sold “consolation” devotional.

'GOD CALLING' IS A CRAFTY FORERUNNER OF 'JESUS CALLING'

In considering this, are you aware that Jesus Christ of Nazareth warned about false Christs coming in His name, and also, that Paul the Apostle warned Christians about “another Jesus, another spirit, and another gospel”? God Calling presents heretical teachings about Jesus Christ from “another Jesus” in a similar manner as Jesus and Paul the Apostle warned about.

This crafty deception, God Calling, was touted as “a classic daily devotional for the encouragement of the Christian walk.” What most people don’t know is that God Calling was psychically channeled from an invisible spirit being by “Two Listeners” (Edited by A.J. Russell) and then published for the masses. Many Christians have bought and read it, only to be deceived by it.

This being said,  are you aware that the Bible warns about fallen angels (demons) that can influence people by masquerading as “angels of light” (2 Cor. 11: 14)?  In appearance (or invisibly) they can look, sound, and act like good angels, but in reality they are demonic entities seeking to destroy human beings? These beings can also communicate “messages” under the guise of biblical personalities, deceased loved ones, and alien beings.

These are very important and very serious things to consider. The fact that Sarah Young wrote and published many volumes of “messages” from her “Jesus” should cause alarm to all Christians. Writing and publishing “messages” from “Jesus” is what the Jesus Calling Series is all about. The entire Jesus Calling devotional series is jam-packed with Sarah Young’s “messages” from a being she claimed was “Jesus,” but her “Jesus” contradicts the Jesus of the Bible thousands of times.

What does this mean anyway, that Jesus is “calling”? And if Sarah Young’s “Jesus” really isn’t the Jesus of the Bible, then what will be the result of 45 million plus copies of Jesus Calling being read and spiritually ingested?

Over 45 million copies of the Jesus Calling Series sold

As stated, more than 45 million copies of the Jesus Calling Series have been sold. The bulk of these sales have come through walk-in Christian bookstores, church bookstores, and online Christian stores. The fact that many of these spirit-led “messages” from Sarah Young’s “Jesus” are similar, and even identical in numerous places, to occult training literature, should cause Christian’s to warn about it, not endorse, sell, and promote it.

The much-needed information on this website, including Brenna Scott’s book (read online for free), has been created for you. If you are interested in Christian devotional books like Jesus Calling, please visit my website for more information. Brenna Scott’s book covers a great deal of information and warns about the dangers of the Jesus Calling Series and God Calling devotional. This includes, but is not limited to, Sarah Young’s books, Jesus Calling, Jesus Today, Dear Jesus, Jesus Listens, Jesus Always, Jesus Lives, and the Jesus Calling devotionals for kids.

Purpose of the Spirit Journaling Website

My mission with the SpiritJournaling website and Brenna Scott’s mission with her book, which exposes the Jesus Calling Series, is to provide a comprehensive overview and meticulous analysis of Sarah Young’s book series. Together, we aim to address the concerns surrounding Sarah Young’s portrayal of ‘Jesus’ and to alert readers to the presence of unbiblical and anti-biblical content in her devotionals.

As you read Christian Journaling or Psychic Channeling? and Scott’s newer booklet Fingerprints of God Calling in Jesus Calling, you will see that Young’s individual Jesus Calling devotional and the entire Jesus Calling Series are highly problematic. Brenna Scott’s publications provide solid evidence that exposes and warns about the Jesus Calling devotionals. Both of these publications are available to read for free on this website.

Lastly, and of great importance, Warren B. Smith has published a significant book exposing Sarah Young’s unbiblical teachings. See, “Another Jesus” Calling—How Sarah Young’s False Christ is Deceiving the Church. View book at ChrisLawsonStore.com.

The Truth Revealed!

Our Spirit Journaling website and our SRN page, titled ‘Jesus Calling Series,’ provide ample documentation. This information aims to expose false teachings in Christian churches that are affecting many undiscerning people. Unfortunately, many Christian church pastors and ministry leaders worldwide have embraced Sarah Young’s writings as if they were from Jesus Christ.

However, because Sarah Young’s popular devotional books include references to Jesus and Bible verses, it does not necessarily mean they are safe. Even many New Agers and psychic channelers do the same thing; they quote from the Bible and reference “Jesus.” Consequently, reading, gleaning from, and giving these books as gifts may seriously affect people in a negative way. Below are the content links for this critical book expose.

Test All THings!

In conclusion, as you read the materials presented here, you may also find the truth about Sarah Young’s unscriptural teachings. We hope you will share our concerns as well. Don’t be like others who have accepted a false Christ and been deceived by the false teachings in the Jesus Calling devotional series. Most importantly, as you learn the truth about this book series, you will be equipped to effectively warn others and share the biblical truth in a loving manner.

In the Bible, the apostle Paul clearly states that we are to “prove [test] all things; hold fast to that which is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21). Furthermore, in the Gospel of Mark, our Lord Jesus Christ Himself warned His disciples. “Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” (Matthew 24:4-5)
